About the volunteering opportunity
The FUN is committed to the preservation and promotion of biodiversity. Many different tasks are required throughout the year to preserve habitats and protect nature, which can only be accomplished with the support of volunteers.
We are delighted to be able to give you an insight into our work on Volunteer Day and to be able to carry out the tasks involved with the help of many helping hands. The result will be impressive and provide sustainable added value!
We meet at 09:00 and start with an introduction to the work of our association. Then we will go to the depot together.
After a lunch break together at the nature experience center, we can visit the water buffalo or Scottish Highland cattle nearby if we wish.

Your Tasks
There are always a variety of tasks on our premises. The exact activities to be carried out on the volunteer day can only be defined shortly beforehand.

- Building or repairing wildlife protection fences
- Maintaining habitat-protecting hedges
- Clearing ponds of surrounding trees so that they are not too heavily shaded
- Removing and shredding cuttings
- Loading mineral mixtures onto carts with shovels and transporting them away
- Create space for rare amphibians and aquatic plants
- Paving the path
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
As well as a desire to do something meaningful in the fresh air and a willingness to be physically active.
What to bring
Work clothing appropriate to the weather, sturdy shoes and work gloves are required.

A BioBlitz is a citizen science project in which participants record the biodiversity of a region within a fixed period of time using a smartphone app. The data collected in this way is analyzed with the help of experts or artificial intelligence and used for scientific nature conservation work.
