About the volunteering opportunity

JuKi-Farm Langen is a non-profit organization that has been offering children and young people an open, natural space for free play, discovery and learning for over 20 years. In order to further develop the site and improve the facilities for children, carers and visitors, several practical building and gardening projects are in the pipeline. The aim is to make sensible use of existing resources, create new play opportunities and make everyday life on the farm more efficient - all with the active support of a volunteer day.

Your Tasks

Possible tasks for the day

  1. Weather-protected parking space for the gas barbecue
Construction of a permanent, covered and lockable storage facility directly on or next to the terrace so that the heavy gas barbecue no longer has to be transported across the grounds every time it is hired out.
  2. Construction of one or two raised beds
Construction of raised beds to protect the plants from the chickens as well as to enable better observation and care of the plant growth by caretakers and children.
  3. Connection of the IBC water collection tanks to an irrigation system
Connecting the existing IBC tanks to the gutters and linking them to form a common system that can be used for watering on the farm.
  4. Construction of basic scaffolding for the children's hut
Construction of one or two sturdy wooden frames as a base to enable children of primary school age and above to continue building their own hut - and gain their first experience with tools in the process.
  5. Hanging up the swing and nest swing
Installation of the already donated swing and nest swing at suitable locations on the site to expand the play options.

Kinder und Jugendfarm Langen (JuKi-Farm)

The Langen Children's and Youth Farm (JuKi-Farm) is a non-profit organization that has been offering children and young people a special place to discover, play and experience since 2002. Away from screens and predetermined programs, children can try things out freely here in a protected environment, interact with animals and experience nature up close.

The program is deliberately designed to be open: Six days a week, from 3 to 6 p.m., the farm is open to everyone - regardless of club membership. The association is financed by a municipal grant, membership fees, events and voluntary work. The site can also be hired for class parties, children's birthday parties or club meetings.

The JuKi-Farm is more than just a playground - it is a lively meeting place where community, closeness to nature and childhood are given space.
