About the volunteering opportunity

🎄🌟 Volkswagen "Committed together" Christmas card campaign 2025 🌟🎄

During the Christmas season, we as the Volkswagen team would like to do something good together and bring joy to senior citizens with Christmas greetings. Holding a personal card in their hands on Christmas Eve brings a small but special joy to many nursing home residents. As not all of them receive regular visits, we would like to give them the feeling that someone is thinking of them and that they are not alone with a few kind words on a special day like Christmas Eve - in keeping with the motto "Together against loneliness"!

Write one (or more) Christmas cards. All cards will be given to various retirement and nursing homes in the region on behalf of Volkswagen. Like last year, the AWO residential and nursing home "Goethestraße" in Wolfsburg is also taking part. For example, 140 cards are needed for this home. On Christmas Eve, the residents receive the cards and put a smile on their faces!

Your Tasks

  1. Register for the project directly here on the platform so that we can get a realistic overview of how many cards we receive and can request a corresponding number of facilities and in the end each of the residents of the respective houses will have a card in their hands on Christmas Eve.
  2. Design a card: Get or make a Christmas card and write a few lovely Christmas greetings on it. Children are also welcome to draw or make something. You can write a poem, include photos of your pets or add a short Christmas story. There are no limits to your creativity. Design whatever you like - the main thing is that it comes from the heart (see design ideas at the end of this project description ). Please do not glue your card shut!
  3. After registering, you will receive information in the pop-up window and by e-mail to which address you can send the card by internal mail. The closing date for entries is 05.12.2025.
  4. Give the gift of joy: Your card will be handed over personally by the Volkswagen "Gemeinsam Engagiert" team at the facilities before Christmas and distributed to all residents on Christmas Eve.

Tips for designing the card:

Start your text with "Hello" or "Dear person" and then let your creativity run wild: How about a little poem/song or a short story from your everyday life/holiday? Try to put yourself in the person's shoes and think about what would give you new insight and joy. A small drawing or saying is also welcome. You are also welcome to print something out if you don't want to handwrite the card.

In general, friendly, neutral and open language is desired. Please refrain from political and religious content. Please do not tape up your card.

You are free to write your name as the sender on the card. We do not include an address, as many recipients are unable to reply for various reasons. Please also refrain from asking for an answer.

We would ask you to leave it at words, drawings or handicrafts. For reasons of infection protection and any existing dietary plans/allergies, we do not enclose food. So that no recipients feel disadvantaged, please do not pack any small gifts or packages.

The closing date for submissions is 05.12.25. The deadline for submissions is merely a deadline and does not mean a physical date.

If you have any questions contact volkswagen@vostel.de.
