About the volunteering opportunity
Under the motto "Autumn on the move", we combine exercise, environmental awareness and social participation. The aim is to bring people from the Detmerode and Westhagen districts together and get active together.
We are planning a joint campaign in which volunteers and residents will walk through the neighborhood in small groups, get moving and collect garbage at the same time. In this way, we are making a concrete contribution to a clean and liveable living environment.
Afterwards, there will be an autumnal get-together at the meeting center. With apple pie, pumpkin soup and drinks, there is space for encounters, exchanges and new contacts.
The project specifically strengthens the connection between the Detmerode and Westhagen districts and creates low-threshold access to exercise, encounters and voluntary work.

- Accompaniment of small groups in the neighborhood

- Support in setting up the meeting café
- Addressing and accompanying the participants
- Encouraging exchanges and conversations
- Support with dismantling
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
Enjoy interacting with people and a willingness to communicate.
As a high proportion of people with an international family history live in the Westhagen district and many different cultures and languages are represented, it is an advantage if volunteers with additional language skills also take part.
Multilingualism can help to break down inhibitions, facilitate conversations and promote participation for all residents.
However, no prior knowledge is required.
