About the volunteering opportunity
As we have too little storage space in our shelter and the dog food is blocking the escape routes, we would like to build a storage shed (garden hut). We are looking for active support for this!
Your Tasks
Various tasks may be involved in this project:
- Erecting the garden shed
- Preparing the ground (paving)
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Enjoy preparing and implementing a construction project.
What to bring
Please bring work clothes and gloves.
Tools are available on site. It would be great if you could bring a cordless screwdriver, a saw, a drill, a hammer or a spirit level for the day. However, this is not a prerequisite for your participation. We will contact you again in good time before the event and ask if you could bring the tools mentioned.
Catering will be provided on site.

The Emden animal shelter takes in, cares for and places animals in need of help, such as dogs, cats, small animals and birds. The modern animal shelter offers the animals medical care, nursing care and species-appropriate accommodation until they find a new home. In addition, the animal welfare association Emden und Umgebung e.V. is actively involved in animal welfare, informs the public about species-appropriate animal husbandry and supports found and relinquished animals.
