Support the construction of a new "terrace to linger on"

Preliminary Information: This initiative was booked exclusively by a Volkswagen team using Volkswagen’s “Gemeinsam Engagiert” team event fund as part of the Role Model Program. For our project “Terrasse zum Verweilen” (A Terrace to Relax On), we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help us transform a former model train area into an inviting, publicly accessible retreat. We’re planning a cozy terrace that invites people to relax, socialize, and take a breather. Parents can relax there while their children play on the adjacent playground. Visitors, neighbors, and families should also be able to use the space—as a small oasis of calm, a meeting place, and a spot to linger. You can help bring this vision to life: for example, by clearing the area, repairing and preparing the ground, building or setting up seating, planting, decorating, and beautifying the terrace. Help with handyman tasks, creative ideas, and organizational support are also very welcome. The goal of the project is to work together to create a friendly, safe, and beautiful gathering space that is open to everyone and enriches the area for families and the neighborhood.

Tasks include, depending on interest and ability:

People without any prior experience are also very welcome. Tasks can be assigned based on experience, physical stamina, and interests.

You should bring gloves, work clothes, and sturdy shoes. 
Materials and meals will be provided on site.

Previous knowledge is not essential. What is important is the joy of creating together, mutual consideration and the willingness to work together to create a beautiful, safe place for everyone.
