Design a nature play area for the children at the DRK Climate Daycare Center

Preliminary Information: This volunteer opportunity was booked exclusively by a Volkswagen team using Volkswagen’s “Gemeinsam Engagiert” team event fund as part of the Role Model Program. Children need space to play outside, discover nature, and move their bodies using all their senses. On this project day, you’ll work with other volunteers to build a barefoot trail, stabilize a berry hedge, prepare a new garden bed, and spruce up the daycare tables. This will create a place where the children at the center can gain new experiences with movement, the senses, and nature in the future. 

No special prior knowledge is required. 
Manual dexterity, a passion for hands-on outdoor work, and the ability to work well with others are helpful. 

Please wear weather-resistant work clothes and sturdy shoes. 

Tools such as shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows will be provided by the daycare center.

During your shift, there will be drinks, coffee, light snacks, a light breakfast, and a group lunch.

Since the project is located on the grounds of a daycare center, we ask that you be mindful of your surroundings. Children are present in the outdoor area during childcare hours. A brief safety briefing will be held at the start of the event day. 
Restrooms and seating areas are, of course, available.
